Salem Public Schools uses Aspen, a web-based student  information  system. Key information about each student including contact information, demographics, attendance records, grades, student schedules, and more is all stored within the Aspen system. Beginning November 20th, all Salem parents and/or legal guardians will have password-protected access to their students’ information via the Aspen Family Portal. Your child’s report card will be posted in the family portal and this is where you will view it. Paper report cards will no longer be sent home unless a parent or guardian requests a paper copy.

You will receive an email with a link to log in to the Aspen Family/Student Portal. Your username and password will both be your email address. If you have more than one student in the district, you will be able to access the accounts for each of your children with one login. If your family situation requires more than one account, please contact your school front office. 

 The Aspen Family/Student Portal is a powerful, easy to use, secure communication tool connecting parents/guardians and schools. Using the Portal allows collaboration to improve student learning and online access to student schedules, attendance records, assignments, class grades (including report cards and progress reports), and more. Access to this information makes it easier for parents/guardians to monitor progress of students in real time. Teachers are at different levels in incorporating this portal into their practice. As a result of this variation, individual teachers may provide more information than others.

Once you log in you will also be able to review and verify your child and family contact information to ensure that we have up-to-date information. Please note that the information contained within the Aspen Family Portal should only be accessed by students and their parent(s) or legal guardians. To maintain proper security and privacy,  it is imperative that all users be responsible for successfully logging out from any device and safeguarding their account information. 

In preparation for the family portal launch, please review the information linked below about the Aspen Family/Student Portal as well as step by step instructions for how to login. We recommend storing this information in a handy location so that you can access it as needed. Also included is guidance on how to access technical support, if needed.
