Data
In our efforts to provide high-quality education and culturally responsive teaching and learning, Salem Public Schools has had the opportunity to partner with both TNTP (formally The New Teacher Project) and The Equity Imperative to address matters of inequities within our district. Since 2020, TNTP has been instrumental in supporting us with our teacher diversification, recruitment and retention efforts while The Equity Imperative has customized a-synchronous training for our Executive team and school-based staff as we take strides to becoming a more anti-racist institution. Below you can find links and information on our partners.
TNTP
TNTP’s mission is to end the injustice of educational inequality by providing excellent teachers to the students who need them most and by advancing policies and practices that ensure effective teaching in every classroom. We know that student learning starts with great teachers—but it doesn’t end there. We work at every level of the public school system to create: Engaging Classrooms, Focused Schools, Strategic school systems and states.
The Equity Imperative
The Equity Imperative envisions the day when all organizations become sanctuary sites for equity. Its goal is to equip practitioners to make advancing racial equity the core of their everyday work so that designed initiatives live beyond our partnership. The EQ collaborates with partners to identify racial equity problems, diagnose their causes, and design context-driven systemic solutions.
