Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is a service that is identified through assessment via the special education evaluation and identification process. Physical Therapy services are provided by a licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. A Physical Therapist works to increase an identified child's strength, gross motor skills, tone, balance, coordination, functional mobility, gait, postural control, need for assistive equipment, motor planning ability, sensation, and safety and pain as it pertains to promoting functional navigation of the school environment.

In consideration of the student's needs and abilities the Physical Therapist with the Team determine needs for therapy services and issues as related to academic performance and access to the environment.

Our Team of Physical Therapists have provided some useful tools:

- While each child's needs are considered individually, this sheet provides a generally       understanding around the recommended service delivery time for identified students.
