Looking for support navigating special education services? Check out the FREE May training schedule from MassPAC, of which Salem Public Schools is a member district. These workshops are FREE -- most are virtual -- and a great way to connect with other families and knowledgeable resources.
Multiple sessions are offered in languages other than English.

To Carlton Innovation School Staff and Families:
The SPS facilities staff and National Grid are currently working on an electrical issue at the Carlton School. Currently the generator is functioning, and the school day will proceed as normal.
The school telephone system remains down, however, we are working with the City of Salem IT staff to rectify the issue. If the telephone system isn`t back online in due course, we will send a follow-up communication with means of how families can contact the school.

The 2026 Essex County Summer Day Camp will be held for two weeks at the Higgins Middle School in Peabody, Mass., for students entering grade 5 this fall.
Week 1: July 20-24 | 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Week 2: July 27-31 | 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Parents can choose ONE week only.
Included in this year`s camps will be lunch (provided daily), field trips and a field day, awareness programs, public safety demonstrations and a talent show.
Students taking the bus from the Salem Police Department must arrive by 8 a.m., and should be picked up by 2:45 p.m. Transportation is available by contacting your school`s School Resource Officer (SRO) or by contacting Sergeant Charlene Sano of the Salem Police department at csano@salempd.net.
