VIEW GALLERY: Multilingual Learner Family Night at Saltonstall School-Nov. 15, 2023

The first Salem Public Schools Multilingual Learner (ML) Family Night Salem Public Schools took place Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Saltonstall School and drew 100 guests.

Kudos to the English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) planning team of Luz Villarreal, Daylin Muñoz, Kylie Felix, and Director Andre Fonseca, which has been meeting since the beginning of the year to plan ELPAC events; as well as every multilingual teaching and coaching team in each of the Salem schools that contributed, from calling a large number of families at each school, organizing and showcasing student work, and to attending the event and connecting with families in person.

Three ELPAC family members — Monika Carcani, Carmen Baez, and Fausto Darin — gave presentations.

“I am thrilled to see our students’ achievements celebrated and the ties with our community reinforced,” said Mr. Fonseca. “I am proud and honored by the way our Salem ML team has gone above and beyond for our students and families.”
