Though the Salem Public Schools Summer Eats program began last week, the 2025 Kickoff took place Tuesday night (following a one-week postponement due to extreme heat) at Mary Jane Lee Park and served dinner to more than 175 children and families.
In the first week alone, SPS Food and Nutrition Services has served more than 1,500 meals. On Tuesday, guests were served a power pack meal with Ritz crackers, pepperoni and cheese; pepper strips, cucumber half moons; and with strawberries and milk.
Partners supporting the Summer Eats program last night included:
- ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis Therapies) Centers of America
- The House of Seven Gables
- Salem School Committee
- City of Salem
- Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources
