5th Grade Open House

Hello 5th Grade Families

My name in Matt Condon principal of Collins Middle School. I have been at CMS for the last 14 years, before becoming the principal I was a special education teacher and an ELA teacher. I am a product of the Salem Public Schools as I attended Horace Mann, Middle School East (showing how old I am), and Salem High School. Growing up in this community, I always had a great number of mentors and role models to look up to. Teachers from Salem helped me foster a love of learning and school community. As a professional, the relationships I have built at Collins have shaped me as an educator. This community and school is a part of who I am and I want to help support our scholars and teachers to make this a model middle school in the state of Massachusetts.

The team at Collins Middle School is sending information (see flier attached) about our virtual monthly open house meetings. The purpose of the meetings are for you and your child to start to make connections with CMS. This transition to middle school is a big deal and we hope by giving you information about programs, curriculum, and activities we have at Collins will help this transition in your child’s education go a little smoother. Also, on the flier is a google form to fill out if you are interested in a tour of CMS during the school day.  We believe seeing CMS in action is the best way to get to know what the school is really like. I hope to see you at our first virtual open house on Tuesday November 30th at 6pm, if you can not make the session will be recorded and emailed to all 5th grade families.
