Bentley Academy Innovation School K-5 dual language classroom and multilingual educators gathered Aug. 18–20, for an intensive three-day professional development institute designed to advance dual language instruction and strengthen foundational literacy across all grade levels.

Building on previous district progress and partnerships with experts from The New Teacher Project, the series will guide teachers through planning with our high-quality instructional materials, applying Science of Reading principles tailored to bilingual learners, and practicing cross-linguistic strategies like “The Bridge.”

By grounding their work in core texts like Biliteracy from the Start and Teaching for Biliteracy, participating educators collaborated to embed essential dual language practices across all subject areas to foster contrastive language analysis and support the ongoing development of students’ “bilingual brains.”
