Quinn ‘Rocco’ Ryan, a four-year varsity starter and standout for the Salem High football team, was chosen as the Northeastern Conference’s Most Valuable Player in a vote by the league coaches.
Ryan, who set a new Salem High record for touchdowns in a career (44) by scoring twice on Thanksgiving Day against Beverly, finished the season with 1,045 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns while also catching a team-best 36 passes for 528 yards and five more scores. Also one of the Witches’ leading tacklers defensively, Ryan finished third on the North Shore in total points with 104.
