It may be overly simplistic to say Salem High’s softball changed with one swing of the bat. Then again, it was a pretty big swing.
The game was tied in the final inning, two runners were on base … and the count was even full. Junior catcher Julia Gauthier dug in, swung hard and blasted the ball out of the park for a game-winning 3-run homer.
