Collins Middle School Her Time to Play Ball

Despite the Boston Celtics 118-89 loss to the Charlotte Hornets Wednesday, it was a night 35 budding female student-athletes and 14 chaperones from Collins Middle School will not soon forget.

The Play Ball Foundation, in partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods, provided tickets for the CMS party of 49 guests at Wednesday night’s Boston Celtics-Charlotte Hornets clash at the TD Garden.

CMS students and staff were on the parquet floor were before the game and during the national anthem, mixing with Celtics players and members of its dance squad, and even a few members of the Hornets.

Dick’s Sporting Goods also provided food, a t-shirt, a swag bag and Dick’s gift card for every student.

Play Ball, whose mission is to get middle school students involved in sports regardless of experience or ability, is in its third year of its partnership with the CMS intramural program.

Salem Public Schools is grateful for its partnership with The Play Ball Foundation as well as the generosity of Dick’s Sporting Goods.
