The Salem News | Salem’s Dwyer, Swampscott’s Smolski earn NEC Swimmer of the Year accolades

Salem High junior Grant Dwyer and Swampscott senior Claire Slomski have been chosen as the Male and Female Swimmers of the Year in the Northeastern Conference, as the league announced its annual All-Conference teams and other awards.
Dwyer, the reigning Salem News Male Swimmer of the Year, won a pair of Division 2 state championships this winter in the 200 individual medley (1:52.63) and the 500 (4:40.30). He owns a plethora of Salem High records as well as NEC marks, and captured his second NEC Male Swimmer of the Year award in three years.
