BOSTON — Local farms, seafood harvesters and other organizations are recipients of more than $1.5 million in grants to address hunger and strengthen the local food supply chain in Massachusetts.
Topping the list of north of Boston communities sharing in the $22 million in Food Security Infrastructure Grant (FSIG) money is Salem Public Schools with $313,000, Gloucester’s North Atlantic Cold Storage with $310,000, Osborne Seafood Inc., of Marblehead, with $279,000 and Rowley’s Herrick Farms with $246,000.
