SALEM (June 18, 2024) – The Salem ParentChild+ of the North Shore program celebrated the graduation of 12 children and families Saturday, June 8, in a small ceremony at the Collins Middle School.
The ceremony marked Salem’s fourth ParentChild+ graduating class, a two-year program which facilitates joyful learning to prepare young children for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten learning.
Prior to the ceremony, students made their own graduation caps and were treated to music by local artist Mary Beth Maes. Children and families also received certificates of completion.
ParentChild+ of the North Shore is a free in-home early literacy and school readiness program for Salem families of children aged 18 months up to four years old. Early learning specialists visit families at their home twice a week and foster a joyous, fun learning experience with books and toys. Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and focuses on vocabulary, recognizing colors, letters, numbers and learning through play.
