Salem Public Schools, named a Unified Champion School District by the Special Olympics Massachusetts in November 2025, held its fifth annual Unified Game Day Celebration Thursday, May 21, at Bertram Field.
The core values of the school district — equity, opportunity and belonging — were on display as the annual springtime celebration promotes inclusion, connection, and community by pairing students with and without disabilities, side by side in athletic activities.
Launched in 2021, the event brings together hundreds of student-athletes from across the entire district—ranging from early childhood education up to post-graduate programs.
